Country Flame, a respected and popular maker of fireplaces and stoves, has seen its share of changes over the past 30 years from a name—it was Mt. Vernon Fireplaces—to new ownership. However, that has not stopped it from being a leader in manufacturing hearth products that utilize renewable energy sources. Country Flame's signature 'Smart Fireplace' has evolved into a full offering of catalytic and non-catalytic wood, corn, and pellet stoves and fireplace inserts, wood-burning fireplaces and fireplace doors.
Popular Country Flame units run from the versatile Crossfire multi-fuel insert to the Little Rascal Pellet Stove, and the Inglenook Fireplace (zero-clearance, high efficiency design).
The Little Rascal has been consumer rated, with its advantages being its efficiency, heat output and space-saving characteristics. Disadvantage mentioned was an inefficient starter system.
